I purchased these shoes from Ann Taylor a few weeks ago and this is the first time I am wearing them. I have to say they are really comfortable and I can see that they can be used year round for me which is a win. When I was searching for these shoes for the blog, I noticed they were called shooties and not booties. So what's the difference?
I did some extensive research (by extensive, I mean I Googled it) and here's what I found (BTW, these terms do not exist in Wikipedia):
According to Susan Raverman who wrote on Everyday Life Global Post, a bootie is a certain type of footwear that rests somewhere between the ankle and mid-calf. It's a short boot that covers the foot and possibly some of the lower leg.
Acoording to WiseGeek, a shootie is a blend of a boot and a shoe. Shooties are ladies footwear that reach up to the ankles.
My opinion is that they are pretty much the same thing and the words can be used interchangeably. Based on my extensive research, my conclusion is...who cares as long as you like it then wear it.
What would you call these type of shoes?
BTW, I apologize if this outfit feels of season for most of you reading in North America. This is just real California weather and this blog is me dressing for my life so no pretend outfits.
