Throw Back Thursday Link Up: Halloween

In honor of one of my favorite holidays, I thought I would dress all black.  I am not a fan of dressing in overly holiday theme colors or holiday printed clothes since you can only use it for that particular season.  For this Halloween, I will probably wear an all black outfit to the office.

The reason I love Halloween is for dressing up in costumes.  It's the one time of the year when an grown woman can dress as a princess, a superhero or even a slutty nurse and it's okay.  Speaking of costumes, why are so many of the woman costumes so revealing?  Is it because it is the one day of year where exposing all your goodies is okay??

I am not okay with exposing anything and like to keep things pretty family rated.  We have been dressing up as a family for the past few years and theme of course is centered around whatever my son wants be for Halloween.

Do you dress up for Halloween?  If you do, what's your costume this year?

Outfit Details:

Here's our costume for this year.  My husband is suppose to be Superman/Clark Kent.  He is not quite done with his costume yet.  I think he needs to switch to a white dress shirt and add some black rim glasses.

It's become a tradition that we host a Halloween party for my son's with friends that he's had since he was in diapers.   We don't get to see each other often but it's always a great time when we meet.

Another reason I love Halloween is all the fun food you can make. We had so much food and everything was so tasty.  My son was my sous chef.  He assisted in scooping out the pumpkin seeds, made the mummy dogs, orange pumpkins and spider cookies.  His told me his favorite job was making the spider cookies since he was able to eat the cracked oreos.

My girlfriend made this cool 7 year dip., I loved how she used olives to make the skull. The 2nd picture on the right side is a pumpkin rice casserole dish (Recipe here).  It's not the healthiest but it is so good.  There's this pumpkin soup that I've would like to give it a try to.  Have anyone made this?  I would love to hear how it turns out.

Here's a look back at our costume last year (Halloween 2013).
