A New Adventure and a Giveaway

For those that celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you had lots of delicious food to fill your tummies and great company to fill your hearts.  And for those that did some shopping,  I hope you scored some great deals for yourself and people on your list.  It was a great weekend of fun for our family and now I need to gear up of Christmas shopping.  Today's post is a long one.  I have so much to share with you.

First of, I caved and jumped onto the blanket scarf craze.  I am going to give you a back story on this.  Last year, this Zara scarf as seen on Atlantic-Pacific went viral.  It was selling like 3x the original price on eBay.  I actually had ordered it because I really liked the colors.  When I received it and wrapped it around me, it was so hot I thought I was dying.  It didn't help that California had it's warmest winters last year.  Realizing it was pretty useless, I returned it.

Fast forward to 2014, and it looks like the blanket scarf trend is still going strong.  I kept seeing it everywhere and sort of had remorse of returning it.  Then one day, Groopdealz advertised blanket scarf in several prints for a very reasonable price.  And yup, I jumped right back on the trend.  I received the scarf and it is as advertised.  To be honest, I am having major buyer's remorse because even when it's cold for California (low 60s), we do not need this heavy of a scarf.  I am totally struggling with how to wear this without over heating. This has been my only attempt to use the scarf as an accessory.  So sadly for this pretty blanket scarf will be more a blanket than a scarf.

Now you must be wondering what is my new adventures.  I don't talk about beauty tips or finds on this blog because I am pretty basic when it comes to my beauty routine.  I honestly don't do anything fancy and wash my face with Cetaphil to wash my face and moisturize with Exuviance products for years.  The only place that I been obsessed with is my eyelashes.  And my eyelashes, I should say the lack of eyelashes.  The have always been sparse and straight and adding mascara did nothing for them.

I started using Latisse a few years ago and it did make my lashes a bit longer than what they used to be.  I was not one of the lucky ones that have results amazing results (where I have to trim my lashes) but it did make my lashes a little bit longer and fuller.  I still use Latisse several times a week because if I stop using it, that would be back to my sparse lashes again.

I have tried using false lashes and what a nightmare that is. I tried both the small individual lashes and the whole ones and they were both difficult to apply and I would use too much glue or can't place it in right spot so I just end up looking way too scary.

I have also been tempted to use lash extensions but knew this would not be a good long term solution for me since it takes a long time to apply and the maintenance of having to get them done every 6 weeks was just not realistic for me.

I joined a virtual make up party a few weeks ago and ordered the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara that is suppose to the end all of mascara.  I was a bit hesitant and ordered one to give it a try.  Let me tell you that after the first use, I was hooked.  I was so in love with it that I actually join Younique to sell it.  I have never joined this type of direct sales company or considered it so I am still kind of shocked that I actually did it.  I can't say enough about how much I love this and wanted to share some pictures of my eyes (sorry they are kind of up close and scary) that really shows how awesome it is.

I am no make up artist and I am a mature woman with short lashes so please don't mind if the make up skills are not the best.
