A Cape, a Poncho & a New Do

When the Scandal collection came out from The Limited, I tried on this cape and kind of liked it.  For the price, I just could not justify the purchase since it really does not get too cold in Southern California.  Plus this particular cape was a bit too Sherlock Holmes for me to pull off in real life.

Then, I spied this pretty cape from Ann Taylor.  It was still a cape but I liked the it had a belt to define the waist.  The belt is not shown in these photos because I accidentally left the belt in the bedroom and did not have enough time to run back to tie it for these pictures.  You can see how it looks here.  This cape was much more practical for me for a couple of reasons.  1. It was a navy which makes it easy to go with most colors and felt a bit more traditional and 2. A belt makes it more coat like.  I was still a bit hesitant if I could pull this off but there was a really incredible sale and I scored this cape for under $100.  I can't tell you how much I love this cape.  It's actually perfect for my cold office.  I find wearing a jacket and typing extremely restrictive and rarely have a jacket on and turn on my space heater to keep me warm.  With the cape, my arms were able to move freely.

Lastly, I went to get my hair colored this weekend.  Before we started, I asked my girlfriend what she thought of a long bob for me.  She thought it was a great idea and we went ahead with it.  I cut off 12" and when she made the first snip, I was having some serious doubts.  The front is still long and the back just skims my shoulders.  You can see a little bit in the pictures how it angles.  I am so in love with this new haircut!

Have do you feel about capes and ponchos?

P.S.  Hope you be back on Thursday and link up to Throw Back Thursday Fashion Link up.
