A few months ago, I shared with you that I joined Younique (original post here) after trying out their #1 selling Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara. I really had no expectations of where this was going to take me but just loved it and thought for a small investment of $99, it was worth the risk to try out some product and make some money.

With the holidays, I really did not focus much on pursing the business but had great sales since the mascara made such a great holiday gift.  Fast forward to mid January and I still really haven't given much thought to it.  This past weekend, there was a seminar hosted by local presenters in Southern California so I decided to attend and see what the big fuss is all about.

I honestly did zero research on the company and what it represented.  So I learned a lot in this seminar.  For starters, this company just started in 2012 and there is about 160,000 representative worldwide. They currently ship to U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom.  All of the products is all natural and is free of paraben, carcinogen and chemicals and are not animal tested.

Being a make up company, the seminar comprised mainly of women (there were a few gents in the audience).  When you think of a group of 200+ women in the same room selling the same product in a defined geographic location (Southern California), what type of atmosphere would you think it would create?  A bit of jealousy, a bit envious, a bit of curiosity of why this person is more successful than you?

I was truly blown away with the feeling of empowerment and support from this seminar.  The ladies that presented were not professional motivational speakers, they were everyday people like you and me.  Many were able to retire from the day job due to the success of selling make up.

Here were some of my take aways that you can really apply to anything in life:
1.  Find something that is your passion
2. Set goals
3. Believe in yourself and be sincere in what you are selling
4. Do your research and just do it
5. Make the time to do some work to make it happen

And most importantly, why are you doing this?

I started this journey on a whim and now my goal is to have additional income stream and save up for a vacation for the family.  I am setting my goal low for now and will evaluate in a few months and see if I need to adjust it.  Having a goal will help motivate me to better myself in this business.

So my question to you, have you joined a direct marketing company?  If yes, what have you found successful?

So I went on a bit about Youniuqe.  It's such a great organization that I don't want to keep it all to myself.   So now onto my outfit.  I have been living in leggings this past winter mainly because I have put on some weight.  I don't really like to wear leggings on a regular basis because it is too giving and you can neglect the weight management.  I have started to watch my eating again and in due time, I will be able to fit into my clothes again.

Anyways, I digress.....I have always worn solid leggings.  Recently, I bought 2 pairs of printed leggings and love them.  Here I am sharing the leopard ones worn 2 ways.  The pairing with the poncho did not show the print well but I promise I am wearing them.

This outfit of the belted poncho was inspired by this pin.  I love the idea of wearing ponchos but sometimes, I think it's fun to have it belted to give it a different look.
