How to Dress Like a Football Player

I hope you had wonderful weekend and for those that celebrate 4th of July had a wonderful time.  We had a great time spending the day with family and friends.  I am tired today but just gonna suck it up and work through the week.  Days like these, I wished I was in education so that I would have the summer off.  Then I remember i would not survive teaching 30 kids in a class since I do not have patience or planning skills to be a great teacher.

So I bought this top a long time ago and this is the first time and last time I am wearing it.  I remember when I purchased it, it was something I saw on the mannequin and thought it was so cute and didn't bother trying it on since I was in a hurry.

Somehow, I never got around to wearing it because every time I try it on it felt too boxy.  So the other day, I finally decided to give it a try and after seeing these pictures and wearing it for the day, it went straight to the donate pile.

When I first saw these pictures, the first thing that came to mind was that I look like a football player with lots of padding.  I learned a few things with this top and that is the combination of these items: boxy cut, wide stripes and a wide neckline will make me look like a football player.

On a positive note, I completed the Whole30 program in June and have lost a few pounds that I've been carrying for way too long.  I feel better about myself, have more energy and my my skin looks better.  With these results, I have decided to continue eating this way as long as I can.  I am not craving for sugar or junk food which is a huge step for me.  I still have a long ways to go but I am moving in the right direction.  Which leads me to the skirt I am wearing.  This was my first pencil skirt from J Crew that got me hooked on their pencil skirts.  I bought this skirt when I was much lighter and so glad that I can wear it again.
