Premium Denim

I have always wondered if it's worth the money to buy premium denim.  I can only wear jeans on the weekends so I sort of feel paying the higher price seems a bit outrageous.  I have gone to Nordstrom and tried on expensive jeans and was just overwhelmed with the selection that I just end up empty handed.  Honestly, my jeans from Gap, Loft and Old Navy are some of my favorites.

I am sure designers will tell you that it's totally worth every penny from higher quality denim, better fit and attention to detail.  Here's an article from Women's Health that explains why it's worth the price. I can say that my affordable jeans work for my lifestyle but I do notice that my skinny jeans may require me to put it in the dryer to shrink back to it's shape.  It doesn't really bother me enough to spend extra money for jeans to hold it's shape.

So I am about to tell you a little story about how I got these premium jeans I am wearing today.  My girlfriend (who is also my hair stylish) calls me and tells me that she knows this guy that sells premium denim was going to be at the salon the same time I will be.  At the salon, I tried a bunch of jeans and I have to say that some of the jeans made me feel really good.  I am pretty sure that having the other gals at the salon telling me that the jeans look good on me encouraged me to buy a few pairs.

I never thought I would buy premium jeans out of a Prius!  I ended up buying 3 pairs and I do love them.  The funny part of the story is, I am not sure I even got a super deal.  I was so caught up in the moment and never really paid attention to the brands.  One pair I got was Rock & Republic,  James Jeans and Prvcy (worn here). When I got home and googled the Prvcy, I realized that it was a defunct brand! Knowing how much I paid, I truly felt duped.  I was really upset that the denim guy got rid of old inventory and I probably paid full price for them.

I was bothered by the dishonesty of this denim guy and learned never to buy jeans out of a car.  At the end of of the day, I am happy with my jeans and that's all that matters.

I am not suppose to wear jeans to work but with the dark wash, I will sneak it on Friday every once in awhile.  Here's two ways that I've worn it to work.

What is your favorite pair of premium denim brand and how many pairs did you have to try on to find the perfect pair?
