Trusting the Internet

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  We had a nice weekend filled with ice cream, cake, basketball and swimming so I would say it was a great weekend.

I was thinking the other day on how much we rely on the internet.  Not only for finding cute outfits or a good recipe for dinner but for our facts as well.  This sort of got me thinking about how scary that we just trust and assume that what we read is true.

My husband is notorious for going to WebMd to self diagnose his health issues.  It drives me nuts that he would rather trust the internet then an actual doctor.  I am not saying that WebMd is not a reliable source but the internet can not interact with you and check other issues that maybe causing a problem.  I surely don't go to the doctor for every ailment that I have either and check WebMd from time to time like for an at home treatments for my plantar fasciitis.

I was reading a blog one day and the blogger clearly had misspoken about a topic (nothing major, it was for a recipe that's this person posted).  I corrected the blogger about it but at the same time felt a bit silly pointing it out. It just got me thinking that this recipe is now forever out there on the internet. If I was searching for a vegan, sugar-free, paleo, whole30 or whatever type of recipe and the internet pulls up a recipe that was mislabeled - it's not the end of the world.  At the same time, it really leaves the responsibility to the reader to really read and trust the source.  Of course, not everything written is true or factual but I want to know how many people actually look through a book for facts anymore.

It frightens me that my son wants to know something he asks me to ask Siri or google it.  These kids really have no idea how tough it was to find out facts and having the need to borrow multiple books to do research for a paper.

This has nothing to do with my outfit and but wanted to share what's on my mind.

Moving on to my outfit...I have been reacquaninted with this blue skirt from my closet.  I think I've had it for a couple years and it's been neglected. So glad I've found it again because I love the shape and fit of this skirt.  It doesn't hurt that it's super comfy too.  J Crew if you are listening, I would love to have this skirt in more colors.
