Throw Back Thursday Fashion Link Up: Pink Stripe Top

I saw this pink moto jacket in the latest White House Black Market catalog and fell in love with it.  I had just purchased a blush moto jacket late last year (seen here) and already own another pink moto jacket (seen here) so I have no idea why I needed another pink jacket.

Can I just say I am totally in love with this and glad I made the purchase because I can't find it online anymore.  Growing up,  I hated the color pink and never wanted to wear it.  I guess now I can't enough of it.  I love it so much,  I am now lusting after a blush blazer (some options that I am considering is this one from WHBM and this one from J Crew).

What colors did you shy away from and now love?

Looking back to October 2013, that was the one and only time this top made an appearance on the blog.  (Original post here).  I have really enjoyed this TBT Fashion series, since I get a chance to look back at how I wore a piece of clothing and it encourages me to use what's in my closet.  I have also noticed a trend in my look backs that I stick to similar pairings when with that piece of clothing.  In this top, I like to pair with the same pink necklace and brown accessories.

I don't think there's anything wrong with this process and it just means I know what I like ;)

A Litte Fur, Stripes and Leopard

Oh this outfit was so cute in person but it doesn't look as good in these photos since I forgot to straightened up my bunched up dress and adjust my belt down.  And my bag is not even closed up.  I guess I must have been in a super hurry when I took these photos.  Okay who am I kidding, I am always rushing when we are taking outfit pics.  Every day, we've got approximately 3 minutes since we take the pictures when my son is brushing his teeth before school. So you will just have to trust me when I say that the dress is a bit longer than it appears and it really was a cute outfit.

So if I am not please with the picture, why did I decide to post it?
1.  I am too lazy to retake the photo
2.  I am participating in several style challenges that this outfit covers
3.  I like to show the good, bad and the ugly on the blog

If your answer is all of the above you are correct.  I would say if the I don't have any person bits exposed and the photos are not blurry or unclear they are pretty fair game to me.

How do you decide if photos are blog worthy to post?

P.S.  Hope you will be back on Thursday and join Throw Back Thursday Fashion link up.

Camo Jeans

I had never been a trend setter and always wait and see type of person.  That relates to technology, fashion and everything in between.  For example, I will never stand in those long lines to get the latest iPhone.  I rather wait for the bugs to all work out.  And it's the same with restaurants, I don't like to go when they are really new and the "it" place to be either.  The menu is not buttoned up and the crew have not established their routine.

Of course, there are no bugs to work out in fashion.  I just don't like to buy something that I will wear for one season.  I remember back in the day when I hated the camo look, I just did not want to look like I am going hunting.  I am not sure if I just got to used to it but somehow I started liking the print.  It still took me awhile to take the plunge but I am so glad I bought these camo jeans.  I wear them all the time and love them so much.

What type of purchase do you have the latest and greatest?

Throw Back Thursday Fashion Link Up: White Lace Dress

These photos were taken back in October when the hubby & I celebrated our wedding anniversary.   Better late then never right?  It's been a while since I've worn this dress though I told myself not to save it for a special occasion.  An anniversary certainly qualifies for good reason to wear this pretty dress.

With a crazy schedule, taking outfit photos on location is just not a reality.  So it was nice to be able to take advantage of the beautiful southern California coast line as my back drop.

These photos were taken at The Montage in Laguna Beach.  If you are ever in Southern California, Laguna Beach is a must visit city.  The city famous their artist community and they host the Pageant of the Masters where famous art pieces are recreated with living people.  There's tons of cute little shops and restaurants and of course, the beautiful coast line.

The Forgotten

I know a handful of people that keep shoes at  their office or cars for those just in case moments.  One friend keeps shoes in the office because she takes public transport and likes to change into heels when she gets to work.  Another friend keeps shoes in the car just case the pair she wears breaks.

Let me tell you a little story about these silver heels.  I keep the majority of my shoes in the original shoe boxes on a wire rack shelf in the garage.  I keep shoes in my car trunk but that's just out of pure laziness of not putting shoes away.  I also keep shoes in my office for purchases that I am uncertain about and contemplate about returning.

I ordered these shoes a long time ago from My Habit, one of those flash sell websites.  I fell in love with these and left them in the office inside a file cabinet and they were forgotten.  I had to move my office recently and to my delight, I found these shoes and some other ones that were forgotten.  I have since brought  all these shoes that were in this drawer home and I am able to enjoy some forgotten purchases.  I have downsized to a smaller cubicle with less storage so  I hope that means no more leaving things at the office and forgetting about it.

Please tell me this is normal and you've experienced something similar.

P.S. There's another story on top of this....while looking for these heels online, I found they offered them in a white color too.  I have been on a hunt for some classic white pumps forever and so I ordered them in white.

Red Dotted Skirt

I hope everyone had a great weekend and for those that celebrate Valentine's Day that your day was filled with much love and happiness.

As I mentioned previously, the hubby and I don't go all out on Valentine's Day.  We ended up having sushi with some friends and had a great time.  Our goal is to get each other silly cards and you can what we got for each other at the end of this post.

I tried to squeeze in as many Valentine outfits as I could before the big day and wore this to work on Friday.  I really like how abstract the hearts on this top.

Today, we are recognizing President's Day which also means a nice day off.  I love 3 day weekends since I truly have 2 days to relax and 1 day to do chores.  I hate doing chores on the weekend but there's just not enough time during the week day to make it all happen.

When you do your chores?

Here are our Valentine cards to each other.  I think we both did pretty good this year.  I actually got a chuckle out of my husband.

Throw Back Thursday Link Up: Polka Dot Cardigan

With Valentines approaching, I can't help but wear more feminine outfits.  I am feeling very feminine in this outfit of polka dots, a pussy bow blouse and a midi skirt.

What do you have planned for this Valentines weekend?

I am looking forward to the 3 day weekend and we will be celebrating my husband's birthday.  I have no idea what we are doing but the birthday boy gets to pick.

Have a great weekend!

Merci

As I am preparing this post, I am watching The Interview which made the news last year (see details here).  It never made it to the theaters because of the controversy that surrounded the movie and went straight to Netflix.  Can I just say that I wasted 2 hours of my life.  I just wonder who in the movie studios approves this kind of budge to make sure a horrible movie?

What movies you've seen recently that felt like a waste of time?

Leather Sleeve Blazer x 3

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  With both my son & I being slight under the weather, it was a pretty mellow weekend.  Sunday was my son's basketball season and he gave it his 110% and now we start baseball season.

I was also excited for some TV this weekend with the mid season premier of The Walking Dead, the Grammys and Downtown Abbey.  I know I am getting old when I don't know half of the performing artists.

Today, I am sharing with my faux leather sleeve blazer.  I got it last fall because I like that it's professional and it still gives me a fun edge for work.  I have been wearing this non-stop.  From the look of these pictures, I like to wear them with oxfords too.

I have learned to love faux leather since they've made it so much softer and more real like.  How do you feel about faux leather?

Throw Back Thursday Link Up: Leopard Coat

Lately, I have been seeing cute furry leopard coats in the blogging world and having jacket envy.  I wanted to buy a furry leopard coat but knew it was not practical in warm & sunny Southern California.  And of course,  I have forgotten that I already own a leopard coat sans the furriness.  I remember how excited I was when I found this coat on clearance for $15.  I wanted to do a dance at the store.

I must say, I have not given this coat much love so I don't think adding another leopard coat would be such a great idea.  See my friends, I am shopping smarter in 2015!

What tips do you have for being a smarter shopper?
