This past Friday was the start of Crossfit Open where pretty much everyone can compete for a spot in the Crossfit Games. For a month, each week they announce a new workout that each athlete must complete and then is ranked amongst everyone. The workout on Friday was 20 minutes and in Crossfit world, that is a long time. Let's just say that my body was achy on Saturday.
I am obviously not a competitive Crossfit athlete and the reality is I can't do a lot of the movements but that's okay. I really enjoy the workouts and how it makes fee and the friendships I have formed.
So why is Crossfit like blogging?
- We have our own secret language. In Crossfit there's so many acronyms and terminology that I am still confused after 4 years. We fashion bloggers have our own language like #ootd, link ups, and page views.
- It's a great community. One of the things that people that Crossfit do is talk about Crossfit. We will text our friends and talk about the workout of the day. We become more than workout buddies and become real friends. I have surely made some friends in the blogging world that I would not have otherwise.
- Some days you want to give up. I don't now how many workouts that I wanted to throw in the towel because it was the workout was just so challenging. Having friends cheering you on that makes me not give up. You all know I've been contemplating about quitting a few times and it's friends like you that keep me going.
So if you ever thought about trying Crossfit, just do it. I know you will love it like blogging.
Sharing two looks with a windowpane shirt that I am learning that it is pretty much a neutral print. And it appears that I like to pair this top with the same necklace too.
